Ocean Revive x Jumeirah: Collaborating for Reef Resilience in Dubai

We are excited to announce that earlier this year, Ocean Revive teamed up with Jumeirah, a global leader in luxury hospitality and a member of Dubai Holding. Our team was invited to provide expert guidance and technical support for their coral restoration initiative. This collaboration, which was celebrated this month with a press release marking World Sea Turtle Day, was formed as part of Jumeirah’s wider sustainability mission.

Why This Collaboration Matters

The Arabian Gulf is one of the hottest and saltiest marine environments on Earth — making it a critical testing ground for next-generation coral restoration technologies. In a region where urban development and rising ocean temperatures place intense pressure on marine biodiversity, new partnerships are essential to create scalable, science-based solutions.

By teaming up with the Jumeirah Group, a leading luxury hospitality brand with a strong presence across the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Ocean Revive is working to embed reef resilience into coastal development projects, while fostering education and awareness about marine ecosystems.

This pilot project will test modular reef restoration systems in a high-stress, urban marine environment, with long-term goals of scaling climate-resilient reef solutions across the region.

Building a Culture of Reef Stewardship in the UAE

Beyond field deployment, this project also supports broader goals:

  • Demonstrating the potential of BlueTech in coastal cities

  • Engaging the tourism and hospitality sector in marine conservation

  • Raising public awareness about coral reef loss and recovery in the Gulf

The initiative positions Ocean Revive as a regional leader in coral restoration innovation, while reinforcing Jumeirah’s commitment to sustainability under the UAE’s Vision 2031 and the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.

What’s Next

This pilot marks the first phase in a longer-term collaboration. Over the coming months, Ocean Revive and Jumeirah will:

  • Monitor coral performance across seasonal conditions

  • Refine deployment strategies for scaling restoration along Dubai’s coast

  • Explore new opportunities to bring reef resilience into other Jumeirah-managed marine environments

The project also serves as a model for public-private collaboration in marine innovation - linking science, business, and sustainability goals.
